With landfills overflowing and truck loads of rubbish filling our oceans every day, our planet and wildlife are under attack from plastic. Did you know plastic never ever disappears? Sea animals are becoming tangled in it and mistaking it for food, causing pain and suffering on a catastophic scale. We have to act now and pledge to make a change. If we do this together, we will make the difference.

"We don't need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly, we need millions of people doing it imperfectly" - Anne Marie Bonneau

Here are some easy changes you can make…

1. Turn down single-use plastic

When you go out always take a few reusable essentials with you - a carrier bag, a waterbottle and cutlery pouch will get you through most situations where you would normally reach for single-use plastic.

2. Change your habits at home

The bathroom and kitchen are often the place we can have a big impact with a few simiple swaps. Soap bars instead of liquid, a bamboo toothbrush and natural fibre cleaning clothes can make a huge difference.

3. Make do and mend

If something breaks, try fixing it before simply discarding it and replacing it with something new. As well as saving the planet you can learn a new skill and have fun at the same time!

4. Buy loose or grow your own

Growing your own fruit and vegetables or a trip to the farmers market is fun for all the family and tastes fantastic.

5. Community and spirit

When you see litter pick it up and put it in the nearest bin.
